Tegan Hrad Write Up Essay Example

Tegan Hrad Write Up Essay Was re-appropriating the A/P venture the correct move for Tegan given the other potential other options? Redistributing has appeared to procure an ascent in ubiquity and use in our cutting edge times. Re-appropriating includes going into an agreement in which an in-house organization procedure, or procedures, is eventually given over and managed from a third party’s viewpoint. I would need to state that there are three essential, supportive components to re-appropriating, particularly with regards to the universe of business. To begin, the expense of activities can be cut down through redistributing. This, thusly, would help a partnership or business in collecting more benefit. Besides, every association out there has the expectation of conveying best in class administrations and products. Re-appropriating can add to increasingly proficient conveyances. Explicitly concerning data innovation or something that would be viewed as more specialized, re-appropriating can support productivity inside that specific field of a specialized sort. Therefore, profitability would be improved through re-appropriating. Thirdly and finally, inside a set interim of time, a foundation has the capacity through re-appropriating to finish extends quickly. This is because of the way that while an outsider is taking care of a specific movement of a specific organization, that individual organization would now be able to utilize its human capital and representatives †that may initially would need to manage a particular advancement phase of a specific venture which has now been redistributed †in other, increasingly gainful ways. More work can be placed into different regions. However, while concerning one’s self or a company’s self with such a territory as data innovation, re-appropriating must be taken a gander at with fastidious thought so as to ensure the most ideal result. The two sides should be partaking continually and locked in. Things should be examined consistently. Support and commitment will be basic once more. In view of the entirety of this, I would need to state that the A/P venture being re-appropriated, with respect to Tegan, was not a decent move. They may have thought it was a decent move, however it turned out not to be on the grounds that the task bombarded, particularly as far as the time interim wherein it should be finished. Clearly, there were disappointments concerning correspondence. Furthermore, I think Tegan didn't make accessible different bits of urgent material that could have helped Hrad. Possibly if Hrad had increasingly mind boggling data or more data at a quicker pace, they could have streamlined different frameworks and framework works by the planned due date. Segment 2: What are the tradeoffs associated with having the necessities investigation for a task performed by one of the organizations that would at last offer on the undertaking? The primary center, concerning the necessities investigation for a task, is to make sense of how a framework explicitly runs and how all the complexities inside that framework cooperate. Over the span of any prerequisites investigation process, tradeoffs must be contemplated. Furthermore, when an association at last chooses to pick that other outfit to play out whatever assignments should be done, an intensive point of view should go in to that also. An assortment of tradeoffs happen dependent on numerous thought processes. Permit me to grow a piece. Beginning, I need in any case cost. Cost is a basic, essential segment to embrace prerequisites investigation. For all intents and purposes each business out there is endeavoring to bring down costs when taking on any interest while at the same time attempting to remove returns at a most extreme level. In this way, if the prerequisites examination technique is too expensive to even consider doing it in-house, the additionally fitting and appropriate methodology would be for that business to redistribute to another office the specific undertakings and occupations it needs done. I think in a perfect world a firm or business gathering of sorts couldn't imagine anything better than to utilize their own workers to finish errands that the organization should be satisfied. Shockingly, workers can be constrained in their insight bases. Inside talking, it will most likely be unable to be done and afterward upper administration may need to enlist new individuals or potentially more individuals dependent on the size of the undertaking or task obligations. This implication might not have been in the brains of senior administration. Essentially, can senior administration enlist particular workers or would they be able to hurry on by without them? Cost unquestionably assumes a job directly here. What will be prudent for the organization? To what extent can organizations reliably pay for specific work to work inside their inward structures? What redistributing choices does an organization have? In this manner, tightening influences and impediments with respect to data innovation are an indispensable piece of the prerequisites investigation process. As a firm or organization is thinking about re-appropriating, the individual organization needs to see how mechanically propelled the other office is. What are the limits and controls of that other organization? Do they really have a capable group of mechanical experts that will have the option to convey what they guarantee or will they stall out on something some place in the venture? That would not be acceptable. At whatever point an organization out there, regardless of how large or little it is, shows to go with a redistributing association, it generally assists with revealing and confirm the specialized bent of the office that will give the authorized bundle of merchandise and enterprises. Thirdly, time is basic. The pondering of time interims and what should be done inside a specific time is fundamental when managing a necessities examination. This is one more tradeoff. Can we as an organization, with everything that is as of now on our plate, total tasks x, y, and z all alone or do we need help completing such activities in an all the more opportune design? To finish off this area, if time is the key component that will represent the deciding moment an undertaking or arrangement of exercises, the organizations that are looking into re-appropriating firms and will in the end pick one needs to discover one that is proficient in achieving the looked for after objective of time the board. It is constantly pleasant for a business to have a positive affinity with a redistributing firm. It may extricate up any anxieties and that re-appropriating firm may win the offer. However, how well disposed is excessively inviting? Perhaps a companionship could be cause for a remiss/reckless air. Segment 3: Given our excursions through the universe of framework improvement strategies, examine the decision of advancement strategy utilized by Hrad Technika. I know in class hitherto and in this present case (in specific spots), I found out about some various kinds of improvement strategy. From what I accumulated, I accept the scope of strategies crosses the range from coordinated techniques and cascade type schedules over to building, iterative, and joint access/plan. One can even notification that inside the Tegan C. C. C. record, the cascade model is referenced in page four. Besides, inside the Hrad Technika report, on its page four, it utilized such watchwords as iteratively on the highest point of that page and afterward mutually and joint gathering in that page. I thought that it was interesting to revisit my notes and kind of coordinate a portion of these trendy expressions with regards to these two cases as I read through them. I got the chance to see a portion of these techniques referenced, sparkling more light upon them. Concerning Hrad Technika and what they utilized, I would need to state the system that was shown was one of Joint Access and Joint Design. In addition, I would state the cascade system sprung up as well. Inside the principal sort of strategy (joint approach), the makers (the redistributed firm, Hrad) stay in contact with the client (Tegan) concerning decisions about what qualities should be absorbed into the format of the present framework set up. It is additionally useful if the client (Tegan) has some expertise concerning all the different pieces and machine gear-pieces that ought to be inherent and enveloped inside the framework. What the new framework will be ought to be a reasonable picture inside the customer’s mind. That idea will help and advantage the psyches and thinking forms about the creators, otherwise called the re-appropriated firm. The re-appropriated association would then create, cultivate, and sustain such requested viewpoints and parts into the framework. Everything without exception that would be incorporated or developed into the framework ought to stick to exacting consistence. The redistributed organization can't place something into the framework that isn't settled upon or basically won't fit into the framework. In continuation, when the framework has been finished, the customer gets the opportunity to test it. Ideally the customer tests it and doesn't simply begin going for it right away. The client organization needs to ensure they are getting the right necessities they arranged. No doubt testing will happen, and this is the place the two gatherings can record any irregularities and wasteful aspects. On the off chance that amendments should be made or usefulness should be improved, this is the place it occurs. At the point when together planning utilizations and purposes, the two sides need to coordinate. It is just through this participation that a fruitful final product can be accomplished. Tegan and Hrad should be on the same wavelength. In the wake of perusing the two cases, it was very evident that there were some arrangement p

Scenes That Show Masculinity - Free Essay Example

In this essay i will be analyzing and discussing the themes that were discussed that were used in the movie fight club. The first and main one being is masculinity. Violence was another theme that was used. Third one and most important one is identity and the last one is consumerism. The movie tells a story in which the narrator in the story develops these new personalities as to who he actually wants to be. Fight club was created by him in which a group of men came together to fight. The main character lives life as his alter ego throughout the movie and finally snaps back to reality at the end by shooting his alter ego. There are many scenes that show masculinity. The movie could automatically falls under the genre of action. Strength is seen as masculine and a lot of the men in the movie seem to be showing their strength in different forms. There are a lot of visual evidence of the men being physical by lifting weights and exercising. Also the club is a place just for men where a lot of femininity is not being shown or even dismissed. Feminine characteristics being compassionate is not seen a lot by Marla. Tyler is emotionless as a way of showing masculinity. The narrator obviously has intimacy or relationship fears because of his parents relationship. The movies makes me want to pay attention to gender roles and shows a lot of toxic masculinity. The movie also send out a lot of negative messages to young boys that are in their teenage years for instance. An example of that would be how tyler is emotionally abusive to marla. Susan Faludi, while reviewing the movie in her article says, Behind the extremities of his character is the modern male predicament: hes fatherless, trapped in a cubicle in an anonymous corporate job, trying to glean an identity from Ikea brochures, entertainment magazines and self-help gatherings. Jack traverses a barren landscape familiar to many men who must contend with a world stripped of socially useful male roles and saturated with commercial images of masculinity. Its about modern men growing up in an unnatural environment, a place that they were not evolutionarily designed to thrive within. Society suppressing masculinity, the father figure removed from the home while lost and emotionally emasculated boys grow up to do menial jobs that they dont like only so they can buy stuff to fill the void. But the only thing that works is stepping away from the fake world to become real men. Obviously the movie shows the tight connection between being masculine and violence. When looking at violence, it is clearly seen that all the brutal fights gave a sense of being and purpose to the men in the group. It also successfully shows that men are predisposed to be violent. The violence in the movie helped me understand that the men receive some type of spiritual satisfaction. They use it not only to escape from their problems but also to find themselves. It gives them a sense of belonging. Tyler uses the the club as a way to connect back together individuals with violence, the same violence that in the surface is absent from the capitalist rationalised system. We dont fight for our lives anymore, neither we hunt or use violence in our daily activities in any meaningful way. Instead, we pay other people to use violence for us. Like when we go to the supermarket and buy meat from an animal that has already been killed. This is an interesting perspective to look at and was written by Peter in his reviews of the movie. Turning away from violence might makes us think and assume that violence itself is fictional and absent in the world we live in. But indeed violence is still there, is just that it has been obtained from outside and is anonymous. This reminds me of my brother as a child. He has been very violent. This is something he has learned from watching tv. He watched a lot of action movies and every movement he saw had to be practiced on myself and our cousins. For example, if he saw a movie in which a person jumps from a table and leg kicks someone else on their face, then that will be repeated in the house the next time i disagreed with him over anything. He saw violence as a way to solve his problems and that get him a lot of fulfillment. As far as identity, one of the identity of the narrator in the movie uses Marla for sexual purposes and completely ignores her emotional needs when the other does not. The fact that there are two different identities coming out of one individual is an interesting theme to look into. At the same time i feel as though the movie is about a selfish man with multiple personalities who subconsciously handle or control other people in a skillful manner and other people to make everyone equal. At the beginning of the story we see the narrator not being able to find the key to and feeling allowed to cry gives which plays a role in helping him find his identity. Also after the narrators apartment building is burnt down and he started a new life with tyler, every aspect of his life changes including his identity. I also see a theme of consumerism. The violence that occurs in the movie whether it is between people or involving objects, it is to avoid the culture of of consumerism that is highly disliked. While the narrator and tyler are having a chat, tylers says, things you own, end up owning you. This shows how the things we consume in life are pretty much all the same even if the way of marketing is different and that consumerism controls our life. They also send out the message that when living life just consuming then we are simply following orders. When one is going to work and making money they feel the need to invest in mass produced stuff to make themselves feel, better about having a job and celebrating the little things. I am guilty of that myself. I sometimes find myself purchasing things that i dont necessarily need but want. Then i fool myself by telling myself i am treating myself for doing things i should be doing anyway. For instance, spending money on snacks and telling myself i deserve it for getting a good grade on an exam. Even though getting a good grade is a must i somehow make my brain believe that i deserve to get something for little accomplishments. Peter Davis wrote an article in which he summarizes the movie and clarifies the message the movie is intending to send out. He says Its about solitude, despair and bottled-up rage. Its about how not to feel dead as Y2K approaches. Its about daring to imagine the disenfranchised reducing the world to rubble and starting over. I agree with most of the ideas mentioned specifically the sentence i quoted at the same time there are some part of the outlines i overlooked in the movie. The movie is very broad and it will definitely give differen t messages to people with different perspectives. It throws and involves many themes in the picture and explores. But ultimately, it is over all about the self, and the relationship one has with the society they live in. It analyzes how one feel and the view of themselves, and how they truly are and how much control they have over their own life. It shows how society is not in working order, and the extreme search humans go to, to find undiscovered truths. At the same time spreading the idea that consumerism leads to happiness. It leads people to consider the consequences of acting and thinking the way they want to go about their everyday life.

The Theory Innocent Until Proven - 2102 Words

The theory Innocent Until Proven... (IUP) is a psychological theory developed to understand persons who exhibit characteristics and personalities shaped by their external environment. In our society, we are exposed to certain behaviors which shape our personality as we become adults. The theory specifies that infants are brought into this world having no knowledge of the â€Å"outside world.† They are taken from the comfort of their mother’s womb, and forced to adapt to the daily life of the individual they choose to become. Humans were at one point considered ‘innocent,’ thus the theory called IUP (Innocent Until Proven...). In addition to environmental factors, we are also introduced to others (peers, teachers, family) where we learn their varied behaviors, actions and reactions and combine them with our external environment to shape and mold our human nature. This has been contradicted by a recent Senior Pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel, who questioned th e impact of the environment on human behavior and he concluded that personal choice is also a main factor. However, there is ongoing research, as well as historical data by many renowned psychologists aiming to prove that the environment does affect human nature, which coincides with the IUP theory. The Privacy Of An Individual - 1700 Words

British political theorist Jeremy Bentham once idealized a theory pertaining to an effective and democratic form of government, declaring that, â€Å"it is the greatest good to the greatest number of people which is the measure of right and wrong.† The privacy of an individual is at its most a fundamental right to which one is entitled. Furthermore, the infringement of an individual’s privacy is rarely justified to any extent, even under circumstances with the purpose of protecting a nation because it deprives individuals of their fundamental rights. Democracy is supposed to express core values of freedom and equality, in addition to the distribution and limitations of power. What It Will Call Eco Imperialism - 1378 Words

Since the beginning of trade agreements between rich and poor nations, many restrictions have been affected undeveloped countries because of them. In this sense, these impositions transcend the commerce among countries by introducing policies that may have a negative effect on the environment. Comparison and Contrast Essay - 686 Words

Comparison and Contrast Essay Children under 5 vs. Dogs as Pets There are many couples that choose to own dogs as pets in lieu of having children. Dogs fill a void in the hearts of many as a small child may. A dog has a lot in common with a small child, except a baby turns into an adult and most of the responsibilities of taking care of a child go out the door with the offspring. Having a dog is like having an infant for 12 to 15 years. A dog and a baby both drool uncontrollably and constantly. They both seem to have a never ending supply of the stuff and neither seem to mind taking a bath in it. They actually seem to enjoy dribbling it all over the house and all caregivers. At least theyre both generous. Another thing the two†¦show more content†¦It is also in appropriate to feed a child from the same dish several times without washing it in between meals. While, a dog does not mind such sordid conditions, a child may become ill. A child may also become ill if it drank from the toilet bowl or a mud puddle. However, a dog would not only survive it, but probably enjoy it. Another thing the two do not share is a body covered in a coat of hair. With the exception of some beastly infants, most newborns are born with hardly any hair at all, while most pups are covered from head to paw. And speaking of birth, puppies are born in a litter of many. Sometimes a brood consists of as many of 12 to 13 pups. While it is possible for this to happen with humans, it is extremely uncommon. But if it did, the birth mother would not snatch up the babies in her mouth, rip the newborns free from their pouches, and proceed to lick them clean. While it is also possible for this to happen with humans, it is extremely uncommon and would once again earn the mommy a spot on the evening news and probably the cover of a tabloid magazine. In short, taking care of a dog can be the same, if not more stressful than raising a child. At least the child goes off into the world to hopefully return to its parents in their old age and return the favor of changing diapers. However, monkeys can be trained to carry out these tasks. It spread to one hundred and sixty million homes, about two hundred countries, and nearly forty languages (askmen.com). TBS made leaps and bounds in the television industry. One of their biggest was the launch of CNN. CNN is a twenty-four hour news channel. TBS has grown outrageously, it is now comprised of TBS Superststion, Turner Network Television (TNT), Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), Turner South, Boomberg, there are even foreign versions of some of the stations like TNT Europe and Cartoon Network Asian/Pacific. Capital Maintenance Doctrine for Developments †MyAssignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about theCapital Maintenance Doctrine for Developments. Answer: History of the Doctrine The doctrine of capital maintenance was originally developed during the mid-19th Century. IT was developed in the United Kingdom. The concept recommends that a company should receive proper payment for its shares but cannot repay it to the shareholder. In the past, the doctrine was applied more commonly among various nations. However, nowadays, it has become less relevant and is not applied often. Profoundly, this can be attributed to the fact that most companies today issue a small share capital to its members. Another explanation for the dwindling relevance of the doctrine can be made derived from the fact that most companies today consider the principle as sophisticated and unnecessarily complicated (Kaplan, n.d.). For this reason, various countries have restructured their Capital maintenance rules to suit the particular needs of their companies. Fundamentally, the doctrine of capital maintenance has grown over the years through a series of applications and interpretations in courts of law throughout the world. One perfect example of a case law in that applies this doctrine is Trevor v Whitworth (Hannignan, 2012). In this case, a firm indulged in its own buyout. As a result, during its liquidation, one shareholder applied to the court to be refunded the money owed to him by the company after the buyout. While the court held that he should be reimbursed his money, the House of Lords held that the purchase of the company by its members was ultra vires (Islam, 2013). In this case, the House of Lords insisted that it was unlawful to refund the shareholders without the issuance of a proper authorization of reduction of capital by the court. Benefits of the Doctrine The doctrine is beneficial in its application because it offers protection to the rights of the firms creditors. Primarily, it safeguards the capital of creditors lent to the firm for purposes of business activity. Additionally, this principle also protects the rights of shareholders, especially the minority shareholders by ensuring lawful usage of the funds of the organization. Exceptions to the Doctrine There are various exceptions to the doctrine. In England, for instance, there are exceptions under which the companys capital can be reduced. Fundamentally, the CA 2008 permits private firms to reduce their capital to their capital through a special resolution by members which is reinforced by a written statement of solvency by all its directors (Hannigan, 2012). Example research essay topic Analysis Of Albert Bierdstats Among The Sierra Nevada Mountains In California 983 words Essay Example

Example research essay topic: Analysis Of Albert Bierdstats Among The Sierra Nevada Mountains In California 983 words Essay Albert Bierstadts Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California is a scenic canvas oil painting on display at the National Museum of American Art in Washington, DC. Created in 1868, this enormous painting is approximately six by ten feet in size (Honour and Fleming, 2000). The subject matter of this piece is typical of Bierstadt, who is known for his detailed landscapes, especially those of the Rockies and Sierras of the American West. Collectively, Alberts works are manipulated and slightly idealized scenes based on actual places he visited. Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902) was born in Germany and at the age of two, he moved with his parents to Massachusetts. In his early twenties, he studied art in Dusseldorf, Germany. He traveled between the U.S. and Europe throughout his life and painted mostly for private collectors. Between 1859 and 1889, he traveled through the West on six different occasions where he drew inspiration for many of his paintings (Encarta, 2000). During his visits, Albert drew numerous sketches, which later became the basis for his works. Bierstadts brother, who was a photographer, accompanied him on several of his travels across the U.S. and upon seeing the landscapes from the photographs; Albert was driven to paint these spectacular scenes from nature for people in the East. Bierstadts paintings combine both European and American influences. Although the subject matter in 19th century Europe consisted of mainly historical anecdotes with a movement towards Realism, Bierstadt painted conventional American subject matter of landscapes and still life with German style. Because of Alberts broad background, his depiction of mountains often takes on an Alpine flavor (Encarta, 2000). Bierstadt was one of the premier American landscape painters of the 1800s and was well known in both the U.S. and Europe. Although Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains is a reflection of the American West, it was painted far from the U.S. This particular painting was created in Rome and displayed in Berlin, London and Paris (Honour and Fleming, 2000). Breaking through the dark clouds after a summer storm, sunlight reflects off of a glassy lake with mirrored images of the mountains above. The trees on the right and the cliffs on the left create a v in the center of the painting, which draws the viewers eye towards the lower center. At this point, a small waterfall comes down the center of the mountain and empties into the lake. Distant snowcapped peaks are present in the center right part of scene, where clouds consume parts of the mountains. The cliffs on the right appear smooth in comparison to the rough woods edge and larger mountains on the left. These two elements seem to balance each other, and a diamond of light is created in the center. Darker clouds cover the top left and right hand corners adding to this effect. The middle ground is somewhat dark and spotlights of sun dramatize the spectacular scenery. The foreground containing short grasses and the lake is smooth and as the eye moves upward the scenery gets progressively rougher. Bierstadt shows his German background in the style of this painting. Carefully placed highlights of sun streaming from the top and dark shadows provide dramatic lighting often present in European painting of the same time period (Honour and Fleming, 2000). With oil painting, many layers of different oil colors are layered on top of each other and brush strokes are often visible. In this piece, brush strokes are barely visible and the surface is smooth in texture suggesting the photographic realism of a camera. A looser, perhaps more American style, was used in painting the clouds. Swirling clouds at the top of the scene gives the picture a sense of airiness and an almost mystical god-like quality. The rest of the landscape is meticulously detailed. It appears to be an idealized picture of nature, but imperfections are shown in the crooked shapes of the tree trunks and the fallen tree in the lower right hand corner. This painting also has warmness to it, which is evident in the yellow hues of the sky backdrop and the small waterfowl and deer by the lakes edge. In its entirety, this painting is a realistic yet semi-idealized view of nature. The perspective is designed to draw the viewer into the painting. Seemingly the viewer is looking from a vantage point that is higher than the foreground as though one is looking down towards the lake and up into the mountains. This suggests that the landscape was manipulated to create a balanced and unique view that may not be physically possible. Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California depicts natures beauty in a peaceful quiet solitude way as to entice the viewer to experience the wilderness first hand. When this was painted in the19th century, America began to make small efforts to preserve and conserve the wilderness. Writers like George Perkins Marsh, who published Man and Nature in 1864, warned of the destruction and waste of Americas resources (Encarta, 2000). After growing concern, national forests, parks and wildlife reserves were established primarily by Theodore Roosevelt. The frontier was seen as a place for continuous generation of democracy, social progress, economic growth, and national growth. The wilderness was seen as a source of wealth and strength drawing people to explore and experience nature. Through paintings like Bierstadts, the viewer could have this experience without having to travel a great distance. Intended for private display, now Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California is on public display as it portrays an important part of our American history. Not only is this painting pleasing to the eye with its detailed majestic mountains, it gives the viewer an idealized view of natures grandeur. Bierstadt, Albert. More than a Rose †English Literature Essay

More than a Rose – English Literature Essay Free Online Research Papers More than a Rose English Literature Essay Society has a way of determining what it wants people to be. To an extent certain ethnic or racial groups are told by society that they aren’t to have certain jobs or live certain places. Television and movies hardly ever show black doctors living in Beverly Hills. There are rarely white men who challenge for the heavyweight boxing title, and even fewer women in each of those categories. In the same way, a person’s family might put a mindset into that person just because of what that family is. Some of these alien sources can be changed and some will probably always have a negative influence on people. These factors affect the way a person is perceived and how that person behaves. In William Faulkner’s â€Å"A Rose for Emily†, a town gives its account of one of its oldest citizens. The town expresses a dislike for Miss Emily Grierson when actually all of Emily’s problems come from sources alien to her. The first source of Emily’s problems lies in the town itself. The town causes the beginning of Emily’s problems by granting her the right to not have to pay taxes. The town says that Miss Emily is a burden on them when it says â€Å"Alive, Miss Emily has been a tradition, a duty, and a care; a sort of hereditary obligation upon the town, dating from that day in 1894 when Colonel Sartoris†¦remits her taxes†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Faulkner 377). If Colonel Sartoris had not given Emily the privilege of not paying her taxes, they would not have the problem of the rest of the town being jealous of that privilege. Emily becomes accustomed to not having to pay taxes, which is a right legally granted to her. When asked if she received a notice to pay her taxes, she replies â€Å"I received a paper, yes. Perhaps he considers himself the sheriff†¦I have no taxes in Jefferson.† (Faulkner 378) Then the Board of Aldermen says â€Å"But there is nothing on the books to show that, you see. We must go by the†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Faulkner 378). It is the town’s own fault for not having proper records of who has to pay taxes and who does not have to pay them. The whole problem of Emily not paying her taxes is put on her by the town and then made worse by the town when they try to change their mind on Emily’s tax status. The next thing that the town does to cause Emily’s problems is to pry into her personal life and try to change it. The town says, â€Å"At last they could pity Miss Emily. Being left alone, and a pauper, she had become humanized.† (Faulkner 379) Her being inhuman is a matter of their thought, not hers. Then they say â€Å"Poor Emily† (Faulkner 380) when she starts being seen with Homer Barron and they think she might marry him. The town should have no reason to pity her, as she seems to be in love with a good man. They don’t like the man because he is a northerner, which is another problem altogether for the town. The town then begins to think it is wrong for Emily to be seen with Homer, as they say â€Å"Then some of the ladies began to say it is a disgrace to the town and a bad example to the young people† (Faulkner 381). So the town forces its will upon their minister who goes to talk with Emily. The town says â€Å"He would never div ulge what happened during that interview, but he refuses to go back again† (Faulkner 381). Once again the town tries to force its ideas upon Emily. The people of the town should just let her live her life the way she sees fit. The other source of Emily’s problems is her family. Her father chases away any men that came to try to court Miss Emily. The town says, â€Å"We remember all the young men her father had driven away†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Faulkner 379). They also say â€Å"The people in our town†¦believe that the Griersons hold themselves a little too high for what they really are† (Faulkner 379). The town forms its opinion of Emily from how it sees her family. Then the town says of her cousins â€Å"We were glad because the two female cousins were even more Grierson than Miss Emily had ever been† (Faulkner 381). The town is once again assuming that Emily is like her family, when they don’t even know her. Had Emily not been born to the Grierson family, she probably would have a much more normal lifestyle. Emily’s problems come from the town and the precedents her family has set. Emily is only acting the way she thinks everyone expects her to act. â€Å"[Faulkner wishes] to force the reader to look behind the words to the hidden, more profound meaning that is nowhere expressly embodied in the writing† writes Claude-Edmonde Magny (144). In society today children of the poor are often seen as growing up to be poor, and therefore many of them do. Treating them in this way only contributes to their demise, just as treating Emily the way the town and her family do contributes to hers. Faulkner is saying in his subtle way that society should open its mind. Faulkner, William. â€Å"A Rose for Emily.† Fictions. Eds. Joseph F. Trimmer and C. Wade Jennings. 3rd ed. Describe Trs riches heures du Duc de Berry in detail and state why you Essay

Describe Trs riches heures du Duc de Berry in detail and state why you chose it as well as its relevance to the times and to the themes of the cantebury tales - Essay Example At the central point where all the four fields meet, there is a building that looks like a small lighthouse, bordering two of the fields that have been fenced off with a wall. Two of the fields, i.e., one where the hay is being harvested and tied into bundles and the other which is bare, are surrounded by these walls. In the case of the former, there is an archway for entry into the field and a small watch tower at one end. In the latter field, there is a small house with a roof covered with orange/red tiles, which appears to be a watchman or overseer’s home. Adjoining the palace and bordering the field where hay is being harvested, there is a long stretch of rolling meadow covered with green grass, covered with several cows. A rider on a horse, aided by a dog, is rounding up these cows and obviously leading them on the place where they will be housed for the night. These green fields arise in sharp contrast to the fields in various stages of harvesting, because the four field s described earlier are brown. The palace present near the fields is notable; it is surrounded by a high, stone wall. There is a large stretch of plain ground just outside the wall, which could perhaps have been used for jousting purposes. There is a narrow stretch of green lawn on the outskirts of the wall surrounding the harvested field with the tree, leading on into the palace grounds through a gap in the wall. The outer wall continues down into a set of stone edifices which appear to have served perhaps as viewing posts, or seating areas where jousting and sword fighting events could have been witnessed by the hoi polloi. Behind the wall, the palace stretches out over a vast distance in the background. Towards the right side, a large tower is visible, with the edifice of a large bird perched on top of it, wings outstretched. At a lower level, patches of blue indicate the seating

Proposal outline Research Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Outline - Research Proposal Example Millions of citizens probably could be out of employment. Therefore, countries wishing for high employment levels can do this only via changes in investment magnitude, which will in turn increase national income. The independent variable in the research study is the wellbeing of the population while the dependent variable will involve the national income level and its determinants. The independent variable will change with varying levels of employment and investment that determine the national income level. Most of the data on the determinants is to be found in literary works, and government records, therefore, there will be minimal reliance on data from professional practice. This will necessitate qualitative research to integrate document analysis into the research design. The research will be interested in identifying the determinants of national income and the way the income correlates with the population’s national wellbeing. Through combining with data on population, national income, can give a clear measure of wellbeing based on the country’s per capita income, as well as its growth with time. National income can also be combined with data on the country’s labor force in the assessment of productivity’s level and rate of growth. National income could also give, in combination with monetary and financial data, a guide to the country’s level of inflation. The study’s conclusion reveals that in the presence of full equilibrium of employment scarce resources can be allocated to alternative employments, as well as preservation of free enterprise, which would see income being distributed on input market pricing factors. This would come with appropriate safeguards for the disadvantaged, which would improve general wellbeing of majority of the population. The necessary determinants were provided that could be used to explain the manner

The Effects and Causes of Fetal Alcohols Spectrum Disorders Essay Example for Free

The Effects and Causes of Fetal Alcohols Spectrum Disorders Essay Drinking while pregnant is a bad decision. Sometimes the child will result in certain health problems, and at times they will be perfectly healthy. The effects are referred to as FASD (Fetal Alcohols Spectrum Disorders). FASD can take form as many various effects. Many people are aware of these effects but they do not realize that moderate alcohol exposure to the fetus can be just as harmful to the baby as frequent exposure. Though this might leave some people thinking that some pregnant women do not realize their pregnancy for many weeks after conception, and how might they know when no to drink. Well, the women who are trying to become pregnant or women who think they may be pregnant should not drink at all. This is due to the possibilities of pregnancy. (March) When women first get pregnant only about 40 percent of the women notice the pregnancy right away (CDC). Studies by the CDC have published that with each live birth in the United States 0.2 – 1.5 out of 1,000 of those births are babies with FASD effects. In a period of 15 years it has been noted that 1 out of 8 women have admitted to drinking during their pregnancy (CDC). This just shows how unaware mothers are of their drinking’s lasting effects on their children and the strain these effects will bring to their families and friends. There are various symptoms, referring to health, of FASD some of the more major according to the Mayo Clinic are heart defects, slow growth before and after birth, problems with sight and hearing, learning deficiency, small brain size, joint and bone deformities, balance and coordination errors, sleep problems, mental retardation, short attention span, and issues controlling anxiety and impulsive behaviors. Some of the visible effects of FASD are a small head size and facial flattening (MC). The causes are simply stated, easily understood, but yet people do not always agree with them. To make the situation more easily understood, we can say that when you drink the alcohol goes into your bloodstream as a form of energy; the blood is shared amongst you and your unborn child. Therefore the baby gets alcohol into its blood and its slow metabolism cannot handle the amounts of alcohol that an adult woman can. This process also causes the oxygen to moves very slowly into the fetus and therefore the organs cannot get enough oxygen to grow properly (MC). It is known when the baby is most likely to be harmed and where development is risked during the stages of pregnancy. In the first three months of the pregnancy the baby is most likely to have facial deformation, and in the remainder of the pregnancy, the baby is at risk of growth of the central nervous system. When pregnant it is unknown how much alcohol consumed that it takes to cause risks to your baby. It could range differently with the woman’s metabolism, health, and age. Seeing that it is unknown of the amount for risks, it would just be safer to not drink at all while pregnant or if you might be pregnant (MC). If your baby has FASD it will not be evident until the birth, unless you tell your doctor that you have drank and he can check for signs and symptoms in the fetus. The signs that can be noticed while the baby is in the womb are small changes in growth, strange facial features, heart deformities, and all around behavior. This is to say that your FASD baby will be unplanned for and that you are always at risk if you have drank. There has been no cure found for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and most of its effects do not ware off with time. A cure for one of the more major signs, heart disorders, can be surgery. And if you have a learning disability that does not leave you mentally impaired, a special learning course in school will usually be very helpful. And with all the stress of the effects the parents may need counseling to cope with their mistakes and child’s behavior (MC). If FASD is evident before the age of six, medication can usually be provided to help with mental and social abilities (CDC). If you’re a parent with a child who suffers from FASD it is good to treat them as any parent would treat their child. Some of the things you can do to help them cope are giving them chores, teach them skills for daily living, teach them to hold their ground and stand tall, reward their good behavior, and teach the child daily routine (MC). If a child is not diagnosed with FASD they might still have fetal alcohol effects (FAE). FAEs consist of two types the first being Alcohol-Related Neurodevelopment Disorder (ARND). ARND is the collection of metal problems a child can have without collectively having FASD, a child with ARND is bound to struggle in school, be impulsive, low memory mass, short attention spam, and bad deciphering skills. The other FAE are Alcohol-Related Birth Defects (ARBD). These are the deformities in the skeletal system due to drinking while pregnant. The deformities may be include in these areas of the body heart, kidneys, bones, and the whole auditory system (FAE). On of the more heard of FASDs is FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome). FAS can lead to Fetal Death which is the most severe result in drinking while pregnant. But usually these people just experience face abnormality and growth problems. Some of the distinctive face abnormalities are a thin vermillion border, smooth philtrum, and small palpebral fissures. A child with FAS has a very hard time getting along with others and making friends (CDC). Children with FASDs often need extra help with simple tasks like walking, talking, and associating with others. These skills can be improved with special counselors at a young age, from birth to three years of age. This counseling is extremely important, so if it is noticed that the child has effects of FASD talk to your doctor immediately. The doctor might also recommend that the parents go through daily speech routines with their child. These routines will help the child reach their full potential and help them more as they reach high school age. As the child ages it is most often necessary for them to be in a special education class. A stable home life is a necessity for FASD cases. Children with FASD have a higher emotion to their surroundings, so moving frequently can cause mental breakdowns and tantrums. Therefore it is important to have a loving household and to care for you child with a great deal of attention. Help can also come from the community and friends to keep the child’s self esteem high and gleaming. And a high self esteem will help the child grow and keep them from criminal activity, dropping out, and unemployment (CDC.)Â  When your child has FASD they still need the same medical attention as a child without the sideffectts.
